We looked at whole house water filtration units but currently these products are out of our price range and based on the product demonstrations we saw required some monthly maintenance. As a result, for our shower we decided to try the Sprite Shower Filter. These filters cost about $25 and need to have their filter cartridges replaced every 6 months. The filter cartridge costs about $10.

Another awesome day in Lansdowne, PA.

We recently welcomed a new resident to our home – a George Nelson creation. For those that do know George Nelson – no further explanation is required. For others, George Nelson is considered as one of the founders of American Modernism. According to Wikipedia, George Nelson was without any doubt one of the most articulate and one of the most eloquent voices on design and architecture in the U.S.A. of the 20th century.

So what did we get? The Herman Miller Platform Bench.

We’ve had this product for a few weeks and have definitely wondered why more of our kitchen tools aren’t made of stainless steel. We like that you can put your full weight into the press of the citrus press and see the strainer catch every pit. Also, since it’s made of stainless steel it cleans up easily when washed by hand or in the dishwasher.

The Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation presents the entire roster of performers for the 2010 Lansdowne Summer Concert Series. All four outdoor concerts are free and open to the public. Concerts take place on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. on the lawn of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church (Northwest corner of Baltimore and Lansdowne), and start at 7 pm. In case of inclement weather, performances will be held at Regency Cafe, 29 North Lansdowne Ave.
